A week ago I lost my dad for five whole days. He went away on a business trip and I looked all over for him. FINALLY, he returned to me and I was so glad to see him.

Then this weekend, I lost something else. It was an hour. Sixty minutes. I’m not even going to try to tell you how many seconds that is because (like my Mom Peep) I’m not very good at math. Suffice it to say, I shut my eyes, went to sleep and then…

When I opened my eyes, the hour was gone, sixty minutes had disappeared. One moment it was 2:00 a.m. and the next it was 3:00.

I’d heard something prior to this about daylight savings time. Something about springing forward. But it was confusing. Saving daylight? For when, another day? I also heard about some solar storm that was supposed to occur on Thursday or Friday. So which one was it? Some kind of storm cloud that entered my house and turned all my clocks one hour ahead? Or was it this daylight savings time thing? Something stole my hour of sleep and I’m not too happy about it.

I got through the day on Sunday, but barely. I felt uncharacteristically tired. I moped around, flung myself up to the top of the sofa and let my legs drip down like melted butter, and I found my eyes closing a whole bunch of times when ordinarily I’d be wide awake.

Did you feel it too?

Charlie Bear, You’ll never believe this but i’ll tell you anyway, peepmom was sort of cleaning out the ‘junk mail’ from this Gizmo and there was your post about the “Time Change” so she just dug it out to see what everybody had to say. so you don’t mind the change; well i didn’t either for i just woke up at my usual time, started my letting anyone know that my “Water Works” was calling to me to let it out, and they know how that is for they both have the same problem and sometimes i have to wait and let them go first. you get used to the changes and it will all work out soon. You tell your peeps that momp had to put Piper to sleep but we told her she was going on a long trip “Over The Rainbow Bridge”, and she could not come back but we would see if we could find her when we went over there. She did not act like she cared for she was just to sick, Woofs to you Charlie Bear..

      Beaugie,
I’m so so sorry Piper went over the Rainbow Bridge. Well, I’m not sad that he went there, I’m sad that you don’t have him with you and Mom Peep any more. That’s a big hole left in the house and in your hearts. When they are very sick it is a blessing to them to be relieved of their discomfort. That’s what happened to big dog Rex, too.
My woofs and wiggles are especially strong today for you and Mom Peep,

Charlie Bear, This is Bailey Hubler. My mom says she wishes the time change would have affected me with a “sleep mode.” But, I’ve been wound up like a clock. Today the Mennonite cleaning lady came, and she LOVES to play with me. I ran like crazy practically all day long. Mom says I need Ritalin. Mom even had to put me in my crate for a while to calm me down. Woof!

      Bailey,

I love my sleep mode. At night, I stick my feet up in the air and hang my head down off the side of the comfy sofa I sleep on and I’m out cold.

But let a woman come into the house to play with me and I’m like you — wound up and wired! Run, run, run!

      Martha,

I heard we don’t get this hour back until the “fall” — something about springing forward and falling back. I’m up for that!

CB, I kinda like this new time. It stays light outside at night and we can go on late walks.

      Hey Clyde,

You know what? I noticed that last night too! It’s lighter now in the evenings, the perfect time for a long walk. If we lived closer together we could walk side-by-side. You’d be the big dog, and I’d be the little dog. But I’d want to walk in front. 🙂

Daylight saving time? Must be a government thing. Don’t see how anyone can add or subtract sunlight or daylight from hours! In Arizona we didn’t change time, but where our family lives did so it makes it confusing! Hope you get your ‘inner’ clock figured out and you had a better day today!

Arizona is where one of Mom Peep’s sons live and they are always wondering what time it is there when they call each other on the phone.

I’m much better with it all today. I’m content with the clocks now and I caught up on my sleep. What a difference a day makes!

Sunday morning, the change was awful and i wasn’t ready for the day. The rest of the day was lots better…

I prefer “fall back”. How do you and your peeps feel about the fall time change,Charlie?

A woof back to you, Charlie.

      Susan,

I know my Mom Peep LOVES fall back. She says we get a whole extra hour of sleep that night. This one, I didn’t like so much. Mom didn’t like it either. The good thing — fall is just around the corner! Shhhh….don’t tell Mom.
